A custom-made, hand-turned wooden pen or pencil is a unique work of art, designed to be both beautiful and functional. Each finely hand-crafted writing instrument has its own individual character. You won't find another identical pen or pencil anywhere.
These carefully crafted works of art make a unique gift for graduations, birthdays, Christmas and other special occasions. They can become treasured family heirlooms, representing a lifetime of memories.
These high-quality pens and pencils are also perfect as presentation promotional items in the corporate environment, suitable for special events, service awards and other staff presentations. Branding of the pens and pencils with corporate logos and inscriptions of your choice can be arranged.
HOW THEY ARE CREATED
Each pen or pencil is individually hand-turned on a lathe using only the finest woods. Since no automatic or duplicating equipment is used during creation, no two pens are ever exactly alike. Care and craftmanship is used to match each pen and pencil set as closely as possible.
The wood is sanded up to 1000 grit (which is extremely fine), to give each writing instrument a smooth, velvet-like touch and feel. Each unique writing instrument is then sealed with a minimum of two coats of poly wax sealer, and then buffed with a protective final coating of wax.
FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE THE COST OF A PEN OR PENCIL
The biggest cost factor in making a pen is the style and the plating option that you choose. The same effort and care is used in making a 24K gold plated pen as in making a Rhodium plated pen.
The type of wood can also affect the price of a pen. Some wood types (e.g. Maple burl and Buckeye burl) are not locally available and must be imported. These costs will be added to the price of the pen.
